Assistant Manager – Sourcing

JOB TITLE:Assistant Manager – Sourcing
INDUSTRY TYPE:Transformer Manufacturing
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  Ensure Timely Material Availability as per design Specification at optimum cost. Co-ordination With Internal Stake Holder like Sales, Marketing, Design, Quality, Planning & Production team for ensuring smooth supply of material.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.ERP Knowledge for sourcing Function – SAP or Oracle.
2.Taxation Knowledge (GST, VAT, Cess, etc.)
3.Incoterm Knowledge.
4.Basic sourcing Function knowledge.
5.Supplier Performance Management & Improvement.
6.Basics of Finance.
7.Import Knowledge.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  1. Sourcing strategy: Develop sourcing strategies, including quality and quantity metrics.
  2. Supplier selection: Identify and evaluate suppliers, and select the best ones based on price, quality, and delivery time.
  3. Contract negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to get the best deals.
  4. Supplier relationship management: Manage relationships with suppliers.
  5. Cost analysis: Analyse and calculate procurement costs, and suggest ways to reduce spending.
  6. Procurement performance: Develop and implement strategies to improve procurement performance.
  7. Policy development: Develop policies and schedules for regular procurements.
  8. Staff management: Train and supervise staff.
  9. Ensure Material Availability as per Production & Sales plan to meet internal targets.
  10. Close Co-ordination with Supplier, Quality & Design team to provide correct technical specs to supplier.
  11. Work with Supplier to improve Supplier processes to improve incoming quality of material.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualification (Must/Desirable): MBA in Finance / B.E in Mech or Electrical Engineer   Experience:  8-10 years of sourcing experience preferably in Transformer Industry. Managing Overall sourcing function. Experience in sourcing of Transformer related items experience will be an added advantage.
